Fatherhood Initiative
Target Population: The focus of the Fatherhood Initiative is to assist custodial or non-custodial fathers, ages 18 or older, in securing gainful employment. The participants are eligible whether or not they have received a high school diploma or GED.
Program Design: Participants may utilize the full range of SPOC services. Fatherhood Initiative offers all eligible participants the following services:
- GED Preparation
- Job Readiness
- Parenting Skills
- Computer Skills
- Career Development
- Skills Training
- Job Placement
- Case Management
- Mentoring
- Transportation Vouchers
- Clothing Allowance
Eligibility: The prospective clients must meet all of the following eligibility criteria:
- Pennsylvania resident
- Custodial or non-custodial parent of a child
- Earn less than 235 percent of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have established paternity or be willing to do so within three weeks of enrollment
