Outcomes Analysis, Tracking and Monitoring

The Quality Practice Review Unit is responsible for analyzing, tracking and monitoring the child welfare outcome measures as defined by both the federal DHHS (Department of Health and Human Services) and by Pennsylvania's DPW (Department of Public Welfare). These outcome measures are the basis for progress reports that are submitted to the state and to the city's Managing Director's Office. They include measures related to:

  • repeat maltreatment
  • reunification in a timely manner
  • re-entries into care
  • stability of placements
  • adoptions
  • institutionalization of young children

The data is used to direct decision-makers, manage programs, develop policies, monitor programs, provide basis for budget projections, and identify trend analyses that may have an impact upon resource allocation. For more information about outcome measures, contact Pat Ripoll at Patricia.C.Ripoll@phila.gov
