What We Offer


The Law Support Center is both an intranet resource and a team of DHS and Law Department staff members that are available to:

• Provide a monthly calendar of attorney/legal assistant and court representative assignments in Family Court

• Litigate cases in Family Court on behalf of DHS

• Handle administrative appeals of indicated reports of abuse

• Provide ongoing legal counsel and advice to DHS staff on various issues

• Provide a library of relevant forms, worksheets, and form letters

• Inform and assist staff with the steps involved in legal procedures and court hearings

• Act as court representatives in Family Court. Court representatives collect information and advocate for DHS using social work practice standards
