- Answer questions, provide information and receive complaints or problems about BHS/CBH and OMR services

- Link staff directly with BHS/CBH staff and/or providers
|
- Act as advocates to resolve cross system problems and promote information sharing on cases
|
- Provide assistance for children in psychiatric hospitals to effect rapid discharges
|
- Assist with the transition of DHS children residing in out-of-state behavioral health treatment facilities who are returning to Philadelphia, as well as with the transition from the DHS system to the adult mental health and MR systems for children aging out of dependent care
|
- Assist in stabilizing cases where multiple placements of children are the result of behavioral health problems
|
- Assist in securing behavioral health and sexual abuse evaluations, as well as providing immediate consultation to case managers on the content of the evaluation and the next steps in treatment
|
- Provide clinical consultation on cases where behavioral health issues are especially complex
|
- Provide assistance in working with hospital, treatment and other clinical staff to secure appropriate services for children and their families
|
- Assist in securing psychiatric, MR or early childhood development consultation on cases
|
- Provide consultation on:
- Sexual abuse
- Sexual reactive behaviors
- Sexual orientation (gay/lesbian/bisexual issues)
- Gender identity
- Sexual addictions
- Sexual perpetration behaviors
- Domestic violence
|
- Provide consultation to the Central Referral Units and Residential Treatment Facilities
|
- Provide access to independent "permanency" evaluations, assistance in making best placement decisions, and attention to child/parent bonding issues
