Safety and Well being visits

DHS completed face to face visits for every child receiving SCOH services. The goal of these visits was to:

• Assess the safety and risk factors of each child living in the home.
• Inquire about visits from the SCOH provider
• Take necessary action to strengthen the safety response
• Provide information about DHS, the provider, and family responsibilities

• 2486 children have special needs or conditions
  • physical health issues (1172)
  • developmental disability or mental retardation (332 )
  • behavioral, emotional or mental health issues (1052 )
  • Substance abuse-drugs and/or alcohol (107)
  • 0ther (227)

• 283 families were recommended for case closure because service needs were met and risk level was low

• 80 families (142 children) were recommended for placement
